Youth media camp will be held in Issyk-Kul

IDEA Central Asia, with the support of NED (National Endowment for Democracy), is announcing an open competition among young people to participate in the Promotion of Media Literacy and Journalistic Ethics among the Youth of Central Asia Program.

 

This is a long-term program that includes a number of activities in addition to the media camp:

- a platform for public speaking iTalk;

- a parliamentary debate tournament;

- workshops about promotion of media literacy.

Participation in the media camp involves a membership in the entire program.

Organizers are waiting for applications from highly motivated, energetic, active and hardworking young people with interest in creating their own media content, with innovative ideas and a desire to implement them.

Expenses related to participation in this seminar (transportation, accommodation and meals) are paid by the organizers for the entire period of the program.

Previous graduates of media camps are not accepted for participation.

The deadline for applications is September 10, 2017 to 23.00 (+6 GMT).

Dates: October 1-15, 2017

Location: Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan.

Working language: Russian.

In the course of a media camp, students will gain theoretical knowledge in the field of:

- Civil journalism: writing texts, video reports, photo reports, journalistic ethics;

- Debate technologies;

- Facilitation of trainings and public events.

 

Expenses related to the participation in this seminar (a transportation, an accommodation and food) are paid by the organizers for the entire period of the program.

Participants will also be taught how to use them in practice while creating of their professional media projects and conducting debates on the most relevant topics.

Citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan from 16 to 28 years are invited to participate.

It is necessary to submit a complete package of documents with a carefully completed application.

Candidates who need a foreign passport to enter the Kyrgyz Republic must have it at the time of application.
