Residents of southern Kyrgyzstan want to view on OTRK less “boring programs” and more “investigative journalism”
Residents of Leilek region, particularly the city of Isfana, said that OTRK broadcast less issues of “border conflict”, as well as the not enough programs for youth and children. These and other issues were the main topic for discussion during the meetings of OTRK headed by Abdy Satarov, head of the Advisory Board of OTRK. Activists from local residents expressed their opinions about the work of OTRK.
“News block and educational programs of OTRK and ELTR is broadcasted at the same time, is it possible to change the schedule of broadcasts? I do not watch TV for example, now I can watch news through social networks. The program “Kүndүn Temasy” is broadcasted at the daytime, when most of people at work and have not a chance to watch it. Maybe there were discussed topics that are interesting to us. Perhaps the programs transmissed at the daytime would be relevant to view in the evening,”- suggested resident of Leilek district Chyngyz Tazhibayev.
Local residents also believe that OTRK should inform more about the transition to digital broadcasting. Participants of the meeting stated that they know little about it. In addition, it was suggested that the program in face-to-face format is – not interesting for viewers that is why they should be cut.”
“Such programs as “Oi-Ordo” has no conclusion”, – added Eshnazarov Tazhibayev, director of the local school.
