Internews in Kyrgyzstan annually holds a forum on investigative journalism “Chyndyk” (“Truth”). Over the past five years, the community of investigative journalists has grown and strengthened in the country, four forums have been held so far, where participants discuss the state and prospects of the genre’s development both in the country and the Central Asian region.
Kyrgyzstan has been named the leader in the genre of investigative journalism in the entire Central Asian region. Every year, journalists gain knowledge on new tools for documenting corruption manifestations at seminars and workshops within the framework of the forum, learn about the rules for ensuring digital security, share important skills in working with documents, which is important for conducting high-quality investigations.
The organizers invite recognized experts and investigative journalists as speakers and trainers, who are affiliated with the reputable international organization OCCRP – Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project .
