Presentation: new Central Asian CARAVAN project

Internews is excited about its new regional project “Cultivating Audience Resilience through Amplification of Vibrant and Authentic Narratives (CARAVAN)” in Central Asia, funded by the European Union. The kick-off presentation of the project will be on June 14 at 10:00 AM (offline in Astana, online in Zoom).

About the project

The CARAVAN project will interact with local and regional media, NGO representatives, educational organizations and government agencies to create an information environment that is more resistant to information manipulation, misinformation and hate speech.

The project aims to create a long-term and trustful relationship between partners engaged in promoting media literacy and critical thinking to help Central Asians better navigate information agendas, form their own opinions and make key decisions.

The Internews team invites all potential partners, representatives of the media, civil society and media organizations to join this big event!

To join the meeting pass the registration before 18:00PM on June 10, 2024. You will then receive a link to connect to ZOOM to the email address provided.

The program of the event:

  • 10:00 – 10:15 Opening. Greetings: Mr. Kestutis Jankauskas, Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan; Marat Bigaliev, Head of the Internews Representative Office in Central Asia
  • 10:15 – 10:30 Presentation of the CARAVAN project: Vadim Sadonshoev, Director of the CARAVAN project
  • 10:30 – 10:50 Opportunities in the CARAVAN project: Gulmira Rymbaeva, the leading specialist in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the CARAVAN project
  • 10:50 – 11:20 Q&A session

 

The language of the event: Russian, English (simultaneous translation is provided)

For colleagues from other countries: join ZOOM directly from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Astana time.

The presentation will be held as part of the “Cultivating Audience Resilience through Amplification of Vibrant and Authentic Narratives (CARAVAN)” project, implemented by Internews with the financial support of the European Union.
