Internews announces the start of applications for the 5-day Training of Trainers (TOT) on Gender-Sensitive Journalism.
The training was organized by Internews in Kyrgyzstan team within the Media-K project’s framework, in partnership with Osh State University.
Venue: Osh, Osh State University
Dates: from May 15 to May 19, 2024.
Teachers of faculties and departments of journalism departments of universities in Kyrgyzstan, and media experts who teach or plan to conduct practical trainings and seminars on gender-sensitive journalism can become TOT participants.
The training will be conducted by media trainers from Kyrgyzstan in the Kyrgyz language.
Participants accepted for training can perform practical tasks in Kyrgyz and Russian.
In the TOT program:
– Features of gender-sensitive journalism;
– Features of teaching methods for the formation of practical skills while observing gender sensitivity in journalistic materials;
Based on the training results, it is planned to create a practical training module for students and novice journalists.
ATTENTION! The organizers cover the costs of accommodation, meals and travel to the city of Osh for participants from Bishkek and the regions. Participation in the training involves a full load for five days, without a break for the weekend.
If you are not confident about studying in Osh in such an intensive mode, do not apply.
The TOT application must be completed by 3:00 p.m. on May 8, 2024.
Selected TOT participants must have a laptop or smartphone and headphones for the entire study period.
The selection of participants will be carried out in two stages:
– call for applications;
– online interview for those who have passed the first stage of selection.
