Internews is seeking an assistant for a regional initiative focused on enhancing objective and balanced reporting of current events in Central Asia. The APRICOT project is being implemented in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The Project Assistant in Kyrgyzstan will provide administrative and logistical support, engage with grant partners and assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the “Accountable Practices for Reporting Information on Conflicts to Offset Tensions” (APRICOT) project. The assistant will collaborate with project staff, consultants, partners and participants, coordinate travel logistics, finalize grant agreements and help monitor and evaluate the project, also support the effective and timely execution of project activities and assist in data collection and reporting in Kyrgyzstan.
The Project Assistant will report to the APRICOT Project Manager in Kyrgyzstan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the daily administration and logistics of project activities, work with sub-grantees and assist in monitoring and evaluating project efforts. Responsibilities may include engaging with project beneficiaries, coordinating travel logistics for trainers, consultants and event participants alongside project managers, collaborating with staff from other countries on joint activities or content creation and promotion and performing additional tasks as needed.
- Organize document management and monitor incoming and outgoing correspondence through corporate email and other communication channels.
- Ensure the consistent implementation of administrative processes and procedures for sub-grant distribution, including verifying compliance with donor and Internews agreements and policies, as well as overseeing disbursement and reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports by gathering project data and analysis, working with partners to ensure timely submission of data and examples of project impact that align with Internews and donor standards.
- Assist in coordinating both in-country and regional activities.
- Help prepare project documentation and collect data for reporting purposes.
- Translate necessary documents, including press releases, brochures and reports, between Russian, Kyrgyz and English.
- Support the execution of activities essential for the successful operation of the project.

Required Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in media or development projects, within the media sector.
- Relevant higher education.
- Familiarity with the media landscape and trends in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the Central Asian region is preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and writing abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Capacity to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Fluency in Kyrgyz, Russian and English.
- Alignment with Internews’ core values.
