Media support center became laureate of the 2017 Information and Media Literacy field

Centre of media initiative (Armenia), Veracruz university professor Jesus Lau(Mexico), MIL project(France), Media support center (Kyrgyzstan) awarded in the 2017 media and information literacy field.

This award was instituted by Global Alliance to support partnership in media and information literacy(GAPMIL).

GAPMIL make its contribution to international cooperation in order to provide access to all citizens to media and information skills. Nowadays included 500 organizations-participants out from more than 110 countries of world. As a result of long and difficult discussion Award Committee lead by GAPMIL selected winners from 170 candidates.

Ceremony of awarding was held within the framework of 2017 Global week on media and information literacy in Kingstone Jamaica.

Center of media initiative(Armenia) got the highest award. Its website mediainitiatives.am  is the main platform for critical analysis of mass media work in Armenia.

Professor Jesus Lau got the second place. He is the main champion of promoting and popularization of MIL in the area of education if Mexico, Latin America and on the international level.

Third place was given to MIL project(France) and Mass Media Support center (Kyrgyzstan)

Mass media Support center is the pioneer in media and information literacy development in Central Asia. It created mechanism of integration of MIL to education. This center plays an important role in elaborating scientific plan and reference for teachers. Also it creates and approve programs for senior pupils.

The most innovatory part of the project – is online platform for students and teachers of “Media lesson: developing critic thinking through teaching media information literacy”. This program gives opportunity for exploring and test MIL online. With the aid of this platform participants can share the results of teaching and obtain certificates of graduating.

The aim of forthcoming project-is creating regnal centers of media literacy for tutorship support
